Pedram Amini is a security researcher, entrepreneur and investor based in Austin, Texas, currently a Limited Partner at Runtime Ventures and Chief Scientist at OPSWAT after founding and serving as CTO of InQuest (acquired by OPSWAT). He is a bug-bounty pioneer and published author with deep expertise in reverse engineering and file detection/response, and has presented research at BlackHat, DefCon, RECon and many other top security conferences while teaching sold-out reverse engineering courses. As the founder of Zero Day Initiative and OpenRCE and an advisor to programs like Mozilla’s 0Din GenAI bug bounty, he blends hands-on offensive research with product and investment strategy for enterprise and government customers. He actively invests in and advises security startups, hosts the Austin Hacker Hoedown, owns a local saloon, and—true to his playful bio—speaks many languages from Python and x86-64 assembly to, as he claims, dogs.
