Chris Burnell is a seasoned front-end engineer, technical writer, and open-source author based in Halifax, Nova Scotia. With 17 years in software development, he specializes in CSS, design systems, developer advocacy, and education, and has published over 50 technical articles and open-source projects. At Squiz, he single-handedly developed the UK’s first design system used by more than 10 enterprise projects and led initiatives to standardize global boilerplate and front-end practices, while mentoring 30+ developers as Chapter Lead. He is deeply committed to the open web and user experience, and has been an active organizer for the London web community, including State of the Browser.
