Jessica De Souza is a multidisciplinary engineer and researcher focused on turning digital health concepts into deployable healthcare technology. As a Postdoctoral Associate at Duke University’s Center for Global Women’s Health Technologies, she advances global health tech through deep-learning image recognition, mobile app development, and hardware-enabled sensing—examples include remote lactation support and BP-Clip blood pressure estimation. A former UC San Diego PhD candidate and MS recipient in Electrical and Computer Engineering, her work spans wearable sensing, medical devices, and rapid hardware-software prototyping, with a strong emphasis on user-centered design.
