Chris Gottbrath is a seasoned software product and technical program leader with over two decades of experience aligning engineering, product, marketing and sales to ship software that users love and that meets business goals. He currently leads a team of TPMs supporting the open-source PyTorch framework at Meta, driving integrations across research, product and heterogeneous accelerator platforms to enable AI at scale. Previously he managed TensorRT at NVIDIA from early alpha to v5 and revitalized flagship debugging tools like TotalView—authoring low-level pieces such as an ia64 disassembly component—illustrating rare hands-on depth across deep learning runtimes, HPC tooling and low-level debugging. He combines formal training in physics and astronomy with practical expertise in C/C++/Fortran, CUDA/ROCm and distributed computing to turn customer insights into prioritized roadmaps. Comfortable shifting between individual contributor and people-manager roles, he returned to IC work after Meta’s 2023 reductions and remains focused on delivering high-impact technical outcomes.
