Top SchoolAaron Makaruk is a Senior Product Designer with 12 years of experience building mobile-first products, design systems, and hardware-enabled platforms for both enterprise and mission-driven ventures. He currently leads Lowe’s mobile design system (iOS/Android) for a platform exceeding $1B ARR and 16M users, and has a track record of shipping end-to-end experiences—from Apple Pay integrations to paint visualizers—while mentoring junior designers and guiding engineering handoffs. As co-founder of OSBeehives and Senate Apps he blended product design, front-end implementation, IoT hardware, and machine learning to scale a global beekeeping network that produced millions of sensor and audio readings and deployed thousands of devices across 40+ countries. Comfortable operating at the intersection of strategy, UX, and technical delivery, he often implements design changes himself to accelerate iteration and has run accelerators, crowdfunding campaigns, and multimillion-dollar product programs. His background in philosophy and nonprofit leadership adds a pragmatic, user-centered empathy to data-driven product decisions.
