Summary
Abdulmalik Adebayo is a Senior Mobile Engineer based in Lagos with five years of software engineering experience and a strong track record in cross-platform mobile and full-stack web development. He designs and ships production-grade React Native apps and scalable web platforms using TypeScript, Next.js, Laravel and Node.js, with notable wins like a cross-platform streaming app that improved retention through a custom mini-player and an efficient video upload pipeline supporting concurrent uploads. His work blends performance optimization (e.g., FlashList virtualisation and memory reductions) with pragmatic product thinking—delivering features such as infinite short-video feeds and timeline-based discovery that scale to large content sets. He also brings backend and DevOps awareness from a Udacity Cloud DevOps nanodegree and experience building robust approval and reporting systems in Laravel for enterprise workflows. Known for improving UX and engineering efficiency (reduced load times, fewer restarts, and faster deployments), he thrives on solving tricky performance and reliability problems that directly boost engagement.
