Chief Technology Officer at Preferred Management Solutions
Newcastle upon Tyne, England, United Kingdom
Summary
👤
SeniorAdam Nicholson is a pragmatic technology leader and current CTO based in Newcastle with 11 years of experience building and scaling product-led engineering organisations. He has progressed from hands-on web and e‑commerce development to defining technology strategy and leading cross-functional teams that support 200+ employees and millions of customers. At Opia he combined product and platform ownership—including a proprietary Opia Cloud—and still steps into architecture and complex engineering problems when needed. Known for translating commercial goals into technical roadmaps, he balances delivery, security, and infrastructure while empowering teams to execute. Now steering technology strategy at Preferred Management Solutions, he focuses on measurable business outcomes and scalable systems. An unconventional strength is his retail-to-tech background, which gives him a practical lens on customer experience and revenue-driven engineering decisions.
