Adam Twardoch is a typographic technology leader and CEO of FontLab with over two decades of hands-on experience in font tool development, Unicode/OpenType engineering, and multilingual text processing. He co-created FontLab VI and co-authored the independently popular Lato type family, combining product leadership with deep technical craft in font production and Python scripting. Adam consults for major software vendors and foundries (Microsoft, Google, Adobe, Monotype) on complex typographic and linguistic challenges, and regularly lectures and edits foundational typography books. Based in Poland and Germany, he bridges cultural scholarship and software product management—his background in cultural anthropology informs a rare sensitivity to multilingual design issues. He still codes automated font-production workflows and contributes to FontLab and latofonts projects, blending CEO-level strategy with practitioner-level tooling expertise.
