Top SchoolAdrian Esser is a robotics engineer and postdoctoral researcher with nine years of hands-on experience bridging aerospace-born control theory and rehabilitation robotics. Based at ETH Zürich’s Sensory-Motor Systems Lab, he develops robotic clothing and contributes to upper- and lower-limb exoskeleton projects that translate control algorithms into patient-facing assistive devices. His background in Aerospace Engineering and early work on flying-robot controls at the University of Toronto give him a strong foundation in dynamics, while practical shop skills from mechanical techniques training inform his hardware-aware software approach. Adrian has iterated in industry (Sevensense, Trexo) and academia, combining rapid prototyping, embedded control, and clinical-focused design to push assistive robotics toward real-world therapy applications.
