Summary

Senior🎓
Top SchoolAdrian Macal is a hands-on Data Engineer with over a decade of experience building production-grade data systems that run reliably at scale, including pipelines that process tens of terabytes per day. Comfortable across the full stack—from Terraform and CI/CD to DBT, Databricks, Snowflake, Kafka and low-level Rust and Go—he focuses on pragmatic, cost-aware solutions rather than slideware. He’s led teams to adopt engineering best practices (CI/CD, automated testing, data versioning) and driven measurable cost and performance improvements in ML and analytics workflows. His background spans real-time fraud detection, probabilistic ID R&D, and building observability and data-quality tooling to remove blind spots. Based in Munich, he signals a reader who actually reads by asking for “i13c” in messages—an understated marker of his preference for clarity and attention to detail.
