Top SchoolAfdhal Tan is an Electronics and Embedded Software Engineer with a decade of hands-on experience and over seven years focused on low-level firmware, PCB design and industrial embedded systems. Based in Birmingham, he blends C/C++/MicroPython firmware for MCUs (STM32, PIC, AVR, PSoC) with full-stack skills—Node.js, GraphQL, InfluxDB/Grafana and frontend UI work—to deliver connected devices and cloud-enabled telemetry. He has deep experience in industrial protocols (Modbus, BACnet, Homebus), secure anti-cloning cryptography (ATECC608A/ATSHA204A), and rapid prototyping including 3D printing and production engineering. As a co-owner of a hardware prototyping startup and a long-term engineer at Microtrol Ltd, he repeatedly moves projects from breadboard to mini production lines. Notably, his university projects applied embedded motion control and LoRa wireless for precision agriculture, demonstrating a practical mix of research-grade innovation and production pragmatism.
