Pakistan
Summary
👤
SeniorAffan Syed is a VP of AI Engineering and seasoned technology leader with a decade of experience building cloud-native, big-data and IoT systems from research prototypes to commercial platforms. He has progressed through leadership roles at Emumba and AN10, architecting microservices-based IoT/IoE platforms and driving digital transformation for telco operations while scaling engineering and budgetary operations. His background blends academic rigor—a USC PhD and university research leadership—with hands-on product delivery in SDN/NFV, IoT, and data engineering, enabling him to bridge research, product and customer-facing engineering. As a national advisor on AI, Big Data and Cloud Computing panels, he shapes technology strategy at the country level in Pakistan. Known internally as an “architect-engineer” who admits to being “not enough coding” on GitHub, he nevertheless ships complex distributed systems and cultivates teams that operationalize advanced research. He brings a pragmatic, systems-first mindset to applying AI at scale, informed by both academic research and multi-cloud production experience.
