Senior🎓
Top SchoolAhmed Abdelhak is a backend software engineer with nine years of experience, currently shaping scalable microservices and cloud-native infrastructure at trivago. He specializes in Kotlin/Spring Boot, reactive streams, Kafka, and Kubernetes on GCP, and has led large migrations from PHP monoliths to performant, test-covered microservices. His work spans high-throughput data pipelines, Protocol Buffers integrations, and optimizations that materially improved bidding and ad-related workflows. Prior roles show deep experience with messaging (RabbitMQ), GraphQL/REST APIs, and mixed data stores including Elasticsearch and Redis. Based in Düsseldorf, he combines hands-on implementation with team-level ownership—driving OKRs, recruitment, documentation, and post-mortems to raise engineering quality. An occasional mobile and payments enthusiast, he also brings knowledge of POS, ISO8583 and EMV contactless systems, hinting at broader systems and hardware-aware thinking.
