Senior🎓
Top SchoolAileen Rae is a Principal Software Engineer with eight years of web development experience building high-traffic media and enterprise applications from Edinburgh. She specializes in pragmatic front-to-back “back of the frontend” engineering—optimizing data-heavy JavaScript, migrating legacy AngularJS to Vue, and authoring robust end-to-end tests with Cypress. At Storm Ideas she led projects that hit aggressive user and conversion goals, and at Dayshape she now shapes scheduling systems that balance browser performance with complex business logic. She champions developer enablement and documentation, believing in “leave it better than I found it” both for code and for lowering barriers into tech. Outside of work she blends analytical thinking from a BSc in Chemical Physics with creativity—reading fantasy, practising yoga, and collecting Pokémon.
