Top SchoolAkash Shah is a Lead Product Engineer based in Bengaluru with over a decade of hands-on experience building high-scale, impact-driven products across education, healthcare, and e-commerce. He architected MITRA, an AI-powered multilingual RAG platform endorsed by META, AWS, and the Government of India, and led engineering for the Shikshalokam project that reached 5+ million users through open-source, modular solutions. Comfortable across Node.js, Angular, Django, Kafka, Postgres/Citus, vector databases and LLM stacks (Llama 3.x, Qdrant, Bhashini), he combines product thinking with deep technical ownership to ship resilient systems. He has a track record of scaling cross-functional teams, integrating complex third-party ecosystems (shipping/tax for US marketplaces), and contributing to education and public-good open-source initiatives like Sunbird and ELEVATE. Notably, he also blends pro bono consulting in mental health and civic-tech with product engineering, reflecting a knack for mission-driven technology.
