Senior🎓
Top SchoolAkosua A is a software developer with 10 years of full‑stack experience building scalable web applications using JavaScript frameworks (Angular/AngularJS, Vue, React), Node, Scala, PHP, and newer backend work in Elixir and Ruby on Rails. At PagerDuty she progressed from SDE I to SDE IV, leading cross-functional teams to modernize core domain models, replace legacy automation with a workflow platform, and productionize an innovative Transactional Outbox enhancement using ksqlDB. She’s comfortable designing greenfield REST APIs, extending real‑time Scala actor systems, and leveraging Kafka and AWS to deliver distributed microservices. Known for clean, well‑tested code, she also mentors junior engineers, runs internal workshops, and helps drive Elixir adoption through an internal guild. Her background in biochemistry and early roles in analytics and customer success give her a strong analytical mindset and an ability to translate user needs into technical solutions. Based in Toronto, she blends practical engineering leadership with a curiosity for new languages and patterns that improve reliability and operability.
