Top SchoolAlan Chu is a software and data engineer with 10 years of experience building distributed systems and real-time solutions, currently contributing to Walmart Global Tech from Bentonville, Arkansas. He blends practical software engineering with a strong research background in materials and applied physics, holding advanced degrees and first-author publications from work on magneto-photonic thin films. As a co-founder of Shanghai Genius Academy he shipped production systems—automating payroll, a student management platform with full test coverage, and a customer-facing website—delivering measurable efficiency and engagement gains. Previous roles at KLA and academic labs showcase his ability to translate experimental science into reliable, automated workflows and train global teams. Comfortable across Python, object-oriented design, and end-to-end product delivery, he brings both startup agility and enterprise engineering discipline. His path—from thermoelectric and thin-film research to AI and software engineering studies—reflects an uncommon combination of hands-on lab experimentation and scalable software craft.
