Top SchoolAlan Cunningham is a pragmatic full-stack software engineer with 11 years' experience building web and cross-platform mobile applications, currently delivering software at BBC Monitoring. He blends backend Python and SQL/PLSQL expertise with frontend skills in JavaScript, SASS and legacy browser/device support, having led a frontend sub-team for global sports-betting sites. Comfortable working in Linux and agile environments, he has hands-on experience with Cordova/Ionic hybrid apps (including writing Cordova plugins in Java), CI tooling and multiple VCS systems. He enjoys tackling hardware-linked hobby projects—Raspberry Pi and Kinect experiments—and brings that curiosity to problem solving and automated diagnostics in production. Notably, his early work automated network monitoring for hundreds of retail branches, cutting service-desk load and speeding incident response.
