Top SchoolAlan Gardner is a seasoned technology leader and entrepreneur with 15 years building large-scale web and mobile systems across search, distributed systems, and data-intensive APIs. Currently Director of Incubation at Placer.ai and a visiting researcher at Boston University, he blends rapid prototyping and product strategy to shape long-term roadmaps for data and location-driven services. His background spans founding startups (acquired by Google), leading Android cross-device efforts at Google, and developing context-aware mobile platforms and education-focused AI tools for low-connectivity environments. Alan consistently ships pragmatic, research-informed solutions—from autonomous lab infrastructure to USSD/radiobased chatbots—demonstrating a rare mix of deep systems engineering and mission-driven product design. Based in Mountain View with an MIT physics degree, he brings both technical breadth and hands-on prototyping discipline to early-stage innovation.
