Top SchoolAlan Smith is a Senior Software Engineer and product-focused architect with two decades of experience building and evolving specification and BIM-related software since 2005. He has led development of flagship products like NBS Building, NBS Create and the cloud-native NBS Chorus, blending full-stack engineering (Postgres, Node/TypeScript, GraphQL, Angular) with AWS and Terraform-driven infrastructure. Alan combines hands-on coding roots (from Pascal to .NET) with leadership across roles from developer to labs manager and solution architect, shepherding prototypes into production. He’s particularly interested in linking specification data with Building Information Models to unlock workflow and data interoperability in construction technology. Based in Morpeth, UK, he distinguished himself early with a first-class BSc in Computing for Business and a pragmatic knack for turning emerging tech experiments into mainstream products.
