Senior🎓
Top SchoolAlan Williamson is an interim CTO and seasoned technology leader with nearly 30 years of experience modernizing and scaling high-volume, transaction-heavy platforms—particularly in private equity-backed environments where speed and execution matter. He has led multi-year rearchitectures from monolithic legacy systems to cloud-native, API-driven microservices at companies like HiBid and Royall, turning technology from a bottleneck into a growth engine. Comfortable both as a hands-on engineer (from embedded firmware reverse-engineering to large-scale distributed systems) and as an advisor to boards and PE firms, he combines deep technical craft with pragmatic delivery discipline. Alan has built and scaled global onshore/offshore engineering organizations, driven cloud migrations and cost reductions, and authored the practical guide "Think Like a CTO." Recently he’s focused on applied AI—designing agents, experimenting with retrieval strategies and deploying models on AWS Bedrock and SageMaker where they deliver measurable business impact. Based in Virginia, he leverages prior recognition as the UK’s first Java Champion to blend developer community credibility with executive-level technology strategy.
