Alberto Paz
Spain
Summary
👤
SeniorAlberto Jiménez is a seasoned software engineer based in Spain with over 15 years of hands-on experience building and operating enterprise-grade systems across payments, cybersecurity, and large-scale web platforms. He blends deep Java/JEE roots and C/C++ systems experience from early roles with modern backend and frontend stacks—Scala, Play, Ruby on Rails, Angular and TypeScript—delivering APIs, SPAs and integration processors. At Flywire he contributes to global payments software, and previously at Telefonica’s ElevenPaths he built managed security tooling and customer portals, demonstrating an ability to bridge security, data and product needs. He has led engineering teams and product roadmaps at VILT, pairing technical direction with product management and client-facing responsibilities for complex migrations and portal integrations. His background in research on high-availability JEE services and low-level replication algorithms speaks to a strong foundation in distributed systems and reliability engineering that often informs his pragmatic approach to production problems. Colleagues describe him as a pragmatic engineer-manager who moves fluidly between hands-on coding, architecture and stakeholder-facing roles.
