Top SchoolAlec Deitloff is a Senior Software Engineer with 11 years of experience, currently shaping backend and full‑stack architecture at AngelList after leading major rewrites and tooling efforts at Safara and Verkada. He prioritizes maintainable, well-architected code without sacrificing delivery speed, and has a track record of large-scale renovations including TypeScript strict-mode enablement, lint-zero campaigns, and dependency-injection backend rewrites. Alec is fluent in TypeScript and Rust and especially enjoys building developer-facing systems—linters, build and CI tooling, and codegen extensions—that eliminate repetitive work and accelerate teams. His background spans game development to consumer web, where he optimized runtime performance, streaming, and release automation that cut release time dramatically. Based in San Bruno, he balances hands-on engineering with mentoring and is always shipping personal projects—ask him about his current one.
