Senior🎓
Top SchoolAlejandro Falkowski is a Berlin-based Staff Engineer with 14 years of cross-functional experience spanning infrastructure, architecture, and developer experience across fast-moving startups and scale-ups. He has led and scaled engineering teams (from 2 to 10+) while driving standardisation in observability, incident management, IaC, and service security using tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Kafka, and AWS. Alejandro blends hands-on architecture (microservices, DDD, gRPC) with product-oriented practices—introducing PRDs, RFCs/ADRs, changelogs and measurable developer productivity initiatives. He has a track record of cost-conscious operational improvements and vendor-agnostic procurement guidance, and has repeatedly defined Staff+ engineering roles and hiring standards. Notably comfortable moving between coding, systems design and technical product management, he fosters continuous learning cultures (book clubs, prototypes) to propagate best practices. His early background in audio and electrical engineering informs a pragmatic, systems-thinking approach to complex technical and organisational problems.
