Top SchoolAlejandro López is a backend-focused software engineer with 5 years of experience building secure, scalable systems for healthcare and space sectors, currently serving as Space Data Archive Engineer for ESAC at ESA. He has designed and deployed a federated zero-trust platform enabling 11 oncology centers to query sensitive data without moving PHI, meeting GDPR and ISO 27001 requirements, and has practical experience integrating federated compute (Vantage6) and automated Helm deployments. Alejandro combines hands-on backend work (Python, FastAPI, Docker, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, JavaScript) with observability and ops improvements that measurably reduced incidents and onboarding time. His background includes building FHIR-aligned data layers, LLM-driven user insights, and migrating critical tooling and tests at Ericsson, reflecting a strong blend of compliance-minded engineering and performance optimization. Based in Madrid, he pairs an Engineering degree and a Master in Distributed and Embedded Systems from UPM with cross-organizational coordination experience, having led partnerships and a 23-person conference team—an unusual mix of technical depth and stakeholder management for an individual contributor.
