Aleksandar Bojchevski is a full professor of Computer Science at the University of Cologne and head of the Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence research group, with 11 years of experience bridging academic research and applied engineering. His work focuses on making machine learning—especially graph-based models like graph neural networks—robust, uncertainty-aware, privacy-preserving, fair, and interpretable, combining deep generative models, anomaly detection, and adversarial defenses. He progressed from a PhD and postdoc at TUM to faculty at CISPA, and has industry experience at Google and in medical-device and mobile software engineering, giving him a rare blend of theoretical depth and production-grade systems know-how. Aleksandar’s background in large-scale graph mining and security-conscious ML informs both foundational research and practical defenses for real-world systems. He holds an M.Sc. from TUM and a top-ranked B.Sc. in Software Engineering, and is based in Cologne, Germany.
