Top SchoolAleksandr Shumilov is a Senior Frontend Engineer and former engineering manager with over a decade of commercial web development experience, now focused on building predictable teams, processes, and UI systems from his base in Oeiras, Lisbon. He combines deep frontend expertise (React, JavaScript, GraphQL) with a research background in distributed geospatial computations (PhD), which gives him a rare blend of practical product delivery and rigorous system thinking. At Toptal he drives corporate UI kit and CI/CD standardization, balancing unification with space for experimentation while proactively fighting technical and organizational chaos. A self-starter who founded and ran a web agency and authored scientific papers, he favors autonomy, mentorship, and measurable improvements that let engineers focus on what truly matters.
