Senior🎓
Top SchoolAles Cernivec is an Infrastructure and DevOps lead with 14 years of experience blending cloud engineering, infosec, and research-driven development. Currently at Scilife, he previously spent nearly two decades at XLAB where he progressed from researcher and sysadmin to Chief Security Officer and project manager, stewarding infrastructure for many EU and commercial projects. His background includes deep work on OpenStack and federated cloud efforts (Contrail, Grizlli) and repeated leadership in high-pressure cyber exercises like Locked Shields. Ales pairs academic rigor—a Master’s in Computer Science and early research on distributed algorithms—with hands-on operational expertise managing client engagements for Huawei, RedHat/IBM/Kyndryl, and others. He’s a conference speaker and DEFCON attendee who translates cutting-edge research into secure, production-grade systems. Colleagues describe him as the kind of engineer who clears cloudy architectures into reliable, auditable platforms.
