Senior🎓
Top SchoolAlessandro Baffa is a Senior Software Engineer based in Tokyo with over a decade of cross-domain experience building cloud-native systems, blockchain platforms, and IoT solutions. Currently at Pafin he designs backend microservices for a DeFi analytics dashboard using Python, Go and gRPC/Twirp, bringing practical AWS-certified cloud and automation expertise to production. Previously he led blockchain engineering at Fragcolor (Substrate, Rust, Solidity) and architected Corda-based enterprise DLT solutions at SBI R3 Japan, combining protocol design with customer-facing PoCs and deployments. His background spans large corporates (Rakuten, Amadeus) and startups, where he introduced CI/CD, security tooling, and agile practices while advocating TDD and Scrum. Trilingual (Italian, French, English) and improving in Japanese, he blends systems-level engineering with product empathy to turn complex distributed systems into reliable user-facing services. An uncommon strength is his ability to move between low-level blockchain protocol work and pragmatic backend microservice ops, making him effective across both research-grade and production environments.
