Top SchoolAlessio Chen is a Full Stack Developer and AI engineer based in Tuscany with nine years of hands-on experience building web applications and machine learning prototypes. He currently develops full-stack solutions with Vue.js and Laravel at Comm.it, delivering products for clients like Autostrade and Coop while mentoring junior engineers and interns. His research experience includes designing DocExplainer, a document VQA system with bounding-box localization that contributed to an accepted workshop paper at ICCV 2025 and work on preference-alignment methods for multimodal models. Alessio combines academic training—a Master’s in Artificial Intelligence and a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from Università degli Studi di Firenze—with practical e-commerce and sales experience, giving him a pragmatic product focus. He’s comfortable shipping end-to-end pipelines for handwritten document processing and iterating models in PyTorch/HuggingFace stacks. Notably, his profile reflects a blend of production-grade full-stack delivery and emerging research contributions in vision-language systems.
