Top SchoolAlex Azarov is a senior iOS engineer with over a decade of professional experience and 7+ years focused on building high-impact, user-centric mobile apps using Swift, SwiftUI, and modern architectures. He has shipped consumer-facing products at scale—driving features and platform migrations for Waymo’s Waymo One app (maintaining a 5.0 App Store rating and over 100k reviews) and leading the iOS Navigation SDK at Mapbox, including the MapGPT conversational navigation feature. Alex is experienced across the full mobile stack, from backend integrations and gRPC to CI/build systems like Bazel and Swift Package Manager, and has a track record of introducing integration tests that bridge app and microservice boundaries. He’s contributed to well-known open-source navigation tooling (mapbox/mapbox-navigation-ios), fixing UI and core navigation issues and adding integration tests. Comfortable in both product and SDK contexts, he also brings cross-platform insight from work on KMM and ad-serving SDKs at Yandex. Based in Old Toronto, he blends hands-on engineering with architecture-level thinking and a knack for migrating legacy codebases to modern Swift.
