Top SchoolÀlex Bacardit is a founder and CEO with 11+ years of experience scaling a Barcelona-based boutique development consultancy, MarsBased, to €2M annual revenue and a 20-person team while specializing in Ruby on Rails and modern JavaScript stacks. He combines hands-on engineering roots with business development chops, landing large international contracts within months of founding and maintaining 30–40% annual profit margins. As a regional leader in the Startup Grind network he has built a vibrant entrepreneurial community—running 170+ events and founding an 800-person conference—demonstrating his strength in community-led growth and event-driven marketing. An active angel investor with ~30 early-stage bets across Spain and Silicon Valley, he brings practical fundraising and M&A experience to founders he mentors. He also experiments with public-facing media, co-hosting a Catalan tech podcast and curating Barcelona’s Startup Digest, which helps him stay plugged into local and global startup trends. Colleagues describe him as quality-obsessed: prioritizing long-term partnerships, clean code and sustainable product development over short-term wins.
