Top SchoolAlex Cristici is a Senior iOS Engineer and independent contractor based in Bucharest with 15+ years in iOS development and two decades of programming experience, blending deep graphics expertise (Metal/OpenGL, shaders) with production mobile app engineering. He has a strong track record building apps from scratch, porting complex rendering pipelines (including a Metal port for MapLibre Native sponsored by AWS), and converting OpenGL ES shaders for cross-platform use. Comfortable across Swift, Objective-C and C++, Alex brings hands-on skills in AR/3D (ARKit/RealityKit, RoomPlan), AVFoundation video composition, performance profiling, and CI/CD for distributed teams. Former lead mobile engineer at EA, he also led game development teams early in his career, giving him a rare mix of real-time graphics, gameplay and consumer app experience. As a freelancer he routinely audits, refactors and optimizes existing apps and integrates advanced features like custom Metal shader effects and 3D model rendering into production releases.
