Top SchoolAlex De Cruz is a Senior Software Engineer based in Portland, Oregon with seven years of experience building and maintaining front-end focused DTC applications using Ember and React. She excels at component-driven design, clean testing, and has led end-to-end projects from costing and planning through deployment—most recently driving a promotions refactor, Tailwind/Prismic design system work, and stewardship of an Ember/GlimmerX component library at Mars. Her background in performance and community arts informs a collaborative, empathetic approach to engineering and documentation, and she actively mentors and gives lightning talks on dynamic collaboration and empowerment. Comfortable across Rails, GraphQL, Node, and multiple databases, she pairs a front-end obsession with pragmatic back-end integrations to ship product launches and brand refreshes. As a queer woman of color, she brings intentionality about diversity of thought to team dynamics and product decisions. Colleagues rely on her curiosity, bravery in contribution, and appetite for learning new tech while improving developer experience.
