Top SchoolAlex Del Barrio is an Android software engineer with 13 years of hands-on experience building consumer and enterprise mobile apps across startups and large organisations, currently focused at Peanut App in Glasgow. He specializes in Java and Kotlin, with a strong background in Python and systems that bridge mobile and backend domains—skills honed earlier through neuroimaging and scientific software work. Alex has shipped apps from scratch (Gluru, Live Beacon) and rebuilt mission-critical driver and streaming apps (Deliveroo, Sky/Sky Q), and has run his own studio as a cofounder and director, blending product intuition with engineering discipline. He holds a first-class BSc in Computing & IT and Statistics and brings uncommon cross-domain fluency from MRI research to production Android development. Known for tackling complex problems in multidisciplinary teams, he thrives on learning new domains and turning research-grade tooling into reliable user-facing software.
