Alex Finnarn
Ohio, United States
Summary
👤
SeniorAlex Finnarn is a product-first web developer with 11 years of experience building and modernizing web platforms across higher education, government, and nonprofit sectors. He blends pragmatic full-stack skills (PHP, JS/TS, Go, Ruby) with DevOps and testing expertise to migrate legacy Drupal systems to decoupled architectures and improve reliability, accessibility, and automated test coverage. Averse to one-size-fits-all stacks, he intentionally cross-pollinates ideas from diverse developer communities and has prototyped AI-assisted developer workflows and an interactive 3D front-end using React Three Fiber. Currently focused on server-rendered HTML approaches like Hotwire (Turbo/Stimulus) and Drupal-as-a-service models, he seeks teams committed to mastering those patterns. Based in Troy, Ohio, Alex pairs hands-on engineering with experience running a freelance consultancy and contributing broadly to open projects, bringing a user-centered, systems-thinking perspective that often uncovers process-level improvements.
