Top SchoolAlex Maki-jokela is an immersive engineering and DevOps leader with 13 years of cross-disciplinary experience building biosensing, lighting, and real-time orchestration systems that shape physical experience. At Lumena Labs he rebuilt MindGym’s biofeedback stack and sensor suite, delivering far greater capability at roughly one-tenth the cost while operating a distributed macOS/Windows edge fleet across Air Force and Space Force sites. He blends artistic practice with rigorous engineering—designing GitHub’s 1,000-year Arctic Code Vault vault, leading a 20,000-LED interactive brain for Burning Man, and launching the first AI-generated apparel line—while also founding community initiatives like the League of Creative Technologists. Comfortable owning product, hardware, software, and operations end-to-end, he excels at cost-efficient, resilient systems engineering and on-demand technical support for deployed fleets. Based in Denver with Bay Area ties, he still takes selective consulting work alongside his full-time role.
