Senior🎓
Top SchoolAlex Mathew is a senior backend software engineer with 11 years of experience building scalable, secure distributed systems across high-traffic consumer and e-commerce platforms. He has deep expertise in AWS, Java, and Go, complemented by practical Python and frontend experience, and a track record of designing microservices for companies from startups to hyperscalers like Amazon and Google. Based in Chicago, he currently drives backend architecture and delivery at Vivid Seats after roles at Deliveroo and multiple e-commerce firms where he owned end-to-end features and integrations. Alex combines hands-on implementation with operational rigor—instrumenting systems for observability and reliability under real-world load. He holds a Master’s in Computer Science from NYU and is especially adept at translating business requirements into performant, maintainable services and automation that reduce cross-team friction. An engineer who continually moves between code, infrastructure, and product, he brings both breadth and production-proven depth to distributed systems challenges.
