Summary
👤
SeniorAlex Mcconnell is a Distinguished Engineer with 11 years of experience designing and delivering maintainable, test-first web and serverless systems from Georgia. He excels in Ruby and Elixir ecosystems and has led teams to adopt TDD, refactoring, and cleaner OOP patterns across Rails, Java Spring Boot, Node.js serverless apps, and CI/CD platforms built with Concourse, Terraform, and AWS. Known for insisting on code quality, Alex consistently produces codebases where adding features is fast and low-risk, and he mentors teammates through pairing and hands-on coaching. His background spans enterprise retail systems at The Home Depot to startup work in computer vision and AWS services, showing fluency across frontend frameworks and backend languages. Reluctant to relocate, he’s selective about opportunities and only considers roles that match his technical priorities and craftsmanship standards.
