Top SchoolAlex Pate is a Senior Frontend Engineer and hybrid designer/engineer with 11 years of experience building design tooling, design systems, and user-facing web products across agencies, startups, and fintech. Based in Milan, he has led UI work at Monzo and MoonPay—shipping customer-facing applications and growth experiments—and most recently helped found and iterate products through his studio hyperdusk, including an acquired web-scraping product. He combines hands-on frontend implementation with design operations know-how, having built internal design systems and custom tooling that scaled design teams. At Mainframe and bolt.new he focused on web-based AI assistants and polished UI foundations, demonstrating an appetite for emerging product categories. Notably, he moves fluidly between product leadership and implementation, preferring to prototype real experiences rather than just spec them. His background in design and frequent cross-disciplinary roles make him especially effective at turning complex design constraints into robust, developer-friendly UI systems.
