Top SchoolAlex Peshkoff is a veteran core developer with 24 years of experience specializing in the Firebird SQL engine, contributing to the Firebird Project and Firebird Foundation since the mid-2000s. With a strong engineering physics background from MFTI, he brings deep systems-level understanding to database internals, performance tuning, and long-term maintenance of critical open-source infrastructure. Based in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia, Alex combines institutional memory of the project with hands-on coding across releases, making him a go-to expert for complex bug fixes and architectural evolution. His decade-plus stewardship of a widely used RDBMS reflects rare persistence and technical ownership in open source. He prefers to be approached on technical matters rather than by recruiters, underscoring a focus on engineering impact over career marketing.
