Top SchoolAlex Smekhnov is a Rust backend developer and founder with nine years of experience building production systems that bridge healthcare, robotics, and decentralized tech. As Co-founder and CTO of CO-UNITY DATA he architected pipelines and a HIPAA-compliant platform that gathered and labeled 400K+ dermatology images from 130+ clinicians, turning a data scarcity problem into a commercial asset. He’s applied his control-theory background and blockchain training to robotics at MerkleBot—demonstrating robot control via on-chain transactions—and now focuses on Rust backend work at STON.fi. Comfortable across full-stack and infrastructure domains, Alex combines startup grit with rigorous system design and metrics-driven pipelines. A practical innovator, he repeatedly turns domain expertise into deployable platforms that solve real-world data and automation challenges.
