Summary
👤
SeniorAlex Van Herwijnen is a freelance software engineer with 12 years of hands-on experience building full-stack solutions on the Microsoft stack, from ASP.NET back ends and T-SQL databases to front-end HTML5/CSS/JavaScript and Episerver integrations. Comfortable across the stack as a T-shaped engineer, he focuses on well-designed, high-performance, and extensible software and prefers working directly with clients to turn requirements into pragmatic long- and short-term solutions. His career spans major enterprise environments including Avanade, Shell, and Jacobs Douwe Egberts, and he has steadily transitioned to independent consulting through Aveia Technology since 2020. Known for digging into challenging problems, he brings both implementation depth (EF, Web API, WCF/ASMX) and practical system-level judgement to projects. Based in Breda, Netherlands, he also contributes organizationally in multiple homeowners’ associations, reflecting a collaborative and community-minded approach beyond tech.
