Senior🎓
Top SchoolAlex Witherspoon is a strategic engineering leader and founder with 11 years of senior product and technology experience who currently serves as VP of Engineering at Going, building delightful travel experiences. He has repeatedly scaled engineering organizations and product platforms—from leading global teams at GitHub through a major acquisition to growing FlightStats' data platform and steering Smile.io to world-scale e-commerce reach. Alex blends hands-on technical building with executive strategy and advising, founding niche community services like AviationWX.org that solves pilots’ real-time weather needs and running a consulting practice to coach executives. Comfortable in distributed, multi-national teams, he has led cross-functional EPD organizations, orchestrated M&A outcomes, and delivered high-throughput data systems and mobile-first consumer products. Based in Sandy, Oregon, he pairs operator instincts with a founder’s curiosity, often mining domain-specific problems (aviation, travel, e-commerce) to create practical, widely adopted solutions.
