Senior🎓
Top SchoolAlexander Armstrong is a Senior C/C++ software engineer with 11 years of experience specializing in data-driven decision making and high-performance scientific computing. He brings hands-on expertise from experimental particle physics—where he built rule-based classifiers, engineered features from hundreds of observables, and processed terabytes on the Worldwide LHC Computing Grid—to production C++ development at companies like Areté and Divergent. Comfortable across Python, Bash, and CI-driven C++ codebases, he automates data pipelines and translates noisy, complex datasets into robust analysis and software. Based in Los Angeles, he pairs deep domain knowledge in physics with pragmatic engineering to deliver measurable results, and he has a demonstrated ability to move research-grade algorithms into reproducible, version-controlled systems.
