Senior🎓
Top SchoolAlexander Bunkenburg is an internet software architect with 14+ years of hands-on experience building Java and Scala web and mobile applications from Barcelona. He specializes in technical design and implementation, covering requirements analysis, functional specification, testing and deployment, and has a track record as a senior engineer and architect across startups and enterprises including Chartboost and Netcentric. Comfortable leading small teams, mentoring developers, and running agile iterations, he has delivered unique backend systems (survey engines, virtual keyboards with AppEngine/BigTable) and robust content-management solutions. A Java expert who transitioned into Scala at scale, he combines deep theoretical computing training (PhD-level work at Glasgow) with pragmatic product-focused engineering. His freelance practice shows a preference for end-to-end ownership of internet applications, and he often bridges architecture, code review and operational rollout. Less obvious: he repeatedly takes roles that blend hands-on coding with shaping technological roadmaps and developer capability building.
