Top SchoolAlexander Edwards is a Lecturer in Aerosol Science at the University of Bristol with 11 years of experience bridging fluid dynamics, mathematical biology, and epidemiology. He coordinates and delivers the "Computational and Data Tools" module for the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Aerosol Science and serves as a personal tutor for doctoral students. His PhD from the University of Leeds focused on transient models of airborne infection transmission and control with particular application to UK healthcare settings. Comfortable moving between theoretical modelling and practical teaching, he applies quantitative methods to indoor air quality and disease transmission problems. Alexander combines strong mathematical training (BSc First Class Honours in Mathematics) with hands-on research in fluid dynamics, and brings experience mentoring the next generation of aerosol scientists. Colleagues describe him as a pragmatic modeler who translates complex transient dynamics into actionable insights for policy and practice.
