Alexander Kahoun
Summary
👤
SeniorAlexander Kahoun is a Staff Software Engineer and platform architect with over a decade of experience building full-stack, cloud-native systems and leading small engineering teams from Gilbert, Arizona. He blends hands-on delivery—TypeScript/Node serverless backends, React frontends, GraphQL, Go-based data pipelines—with strategic AWS cloud and infrastructure design, and a history of real-time data systems using Kafka, Spark, and Akka. A seasoned mentor, he regularly coaches engineers to level up while owning APIs and microservices that power both mobile and web clients. His background spans enterprise integrations, CI/CD and IaC patterns, and earlier work on high-throughput analytics (DeMark/Bit Commander) and travel APIs at US Airways, giving him deep operational chops across legacy and modern stacks. Quietly, he maintains legacy repos and a contributions profile under bit-cmdr, reflecting an ongoing curiosity for tooling and platform craft.
