Senior🎓
Top SchoolAlexander Kmoch is a research-focused geoinformatics engineer with 11 years of international experience building cloud- and web-based spatial systems for land use, soils, hydrology and water quality. Based at the University of Tartu and CEO of Geolynx, he blends academic research—standardized data preparation, parallelized spatial analysis and ML-enabled modelling from local to global scales—with hands-on open-source geospatial solutions and training. Longstanding engagement with OGC standards, SDIs and SensorWeb workflows led to roles as European Co-Chair for the OGC University DWG and an EstGIS board seat, reflecting influence beyond code into community governance. His background in systems administration and DevOps informs robust, production-ready deployments of geoportals and services. Curious and practical, he enjoys tinkering with geospatial web ops to bridge cutting-edge research and usable tooling.
