Top SchoolAlexander Maidak is a seasoned cloud and systems architect with 10+ years building and operating large-scale distributed systems on Linux/Unix. He has driven critical infrastructure projects—from automating PostgreSQL upgrades and deploying Patroni at Equinix to designing Shopify’s multi-region ScyllaDB and petabyte-scale MySQL platforms using Kubernetes, Terraform, and Go. At Tigris Data he’s now focused on next-generation globally distributed object storage, building on a long track record of reliability, performance tuning, and automation. Known for bridging deep systems knowledge with pragmatic operational practice, he often surfaces subtle bottlenecks (linux perf, flamegraphs, USE) and turns them into measurable production wins. Based in Illinois, he combines hands-on engineering with team leadership and a strong background in private cloud and automation dating back to OpenStack and large-scale Puppet deployments.
